
2011 – Sarah Lynn was working a highly technical job and looking for a creative outlet. After a lot of Cupcake Wars episodes, she bought the book “Hello, Cupcake” and tried her hand at a couple of the designs. Among her first were horse cupcakes (complete with Pringles and circus peanuts) and panda cupcakes.



2012 – After enjoying making these cupcakes, she signed up for a Wilton class and decided to branch out into homemade recipes and to grow her cake-decorating skills. She started a blog, Sarah Lynn’s Sweets, to document her journey in baking and cake decorating.



2013 – Sarah Lynn continued making fondant cupcake toppers, even selling some on Etsy. She also joined Icing Smiles, Inc. as a Sugar Angel and made her first fun cake for a family. She started making cakes for friends/family any chance she could!



2023 –
After years of cake/cupcake decorating, Sarah Lynn took her first cookie decorating class and ventured into the world of royal icing and cookie decorating. Icing Smiles, Inc. had started a monthly Cookie Club for families, and she wanted to help with cookies as well as cakes.



2025:
Sarah Lynn finally felt like the time was right to take the plunge, and Buttercream Dreams Bakery was born!
