I can’t believe I’m 2/3 of the way through my Swiftie Sweets series! I’ve had so much fun trying new techniques and flexing my creative muscles with these posts. If you haven’t followed my series, I challenged myself to make treats that represent each of Taylor Swift’s eras. After today, I only have four eras left to represent: Debut, Fearless, reputation, and Midnights.
I’ll be honest: I held off on Debut and reputation because I was clowning for a Debut TV or Debutation announcement this month. Ha! But I’m taking off my clown nose and will go ahead and do those as I finish out my series. I’m especially excited about my idea for reputation, but am still thinking about the others. What would you do for those eras (Debut, Fearless, Midnights)?

One of my favorite albums is folklore. I’m excited to finally cover this era! It’s a no-skip album for me, so it was hard to choose a top 5. I was in a season in life where I wasn’t really dialed in as a Swiftie when folklore first came out. But once I discovered it, it skyrocketed to my most-played.

The magic in this album is the poetry and creative world she created in her mind. The songs weave together to tell a larger story, yet still individually connect to universal experiences we all have – heartbreak, loss, loneliness, grief, nostalgia, betrayal. And who doesn’t love the folklore cabin?
I decided to make cookies again for this era. I was testing out designs for my Christmas cookie boxes (so excited about this years!!) and made a few extra cookies. I love how these turned out!

I, of course, needed to do something with the iconic cardigan. So my first cookies were gray royal icing with a white cardigan. I piped v’s on the cardigan to get a cable-knit sweater look. I used a black edible marker to add an outline and the buttons. I had some white mini star sprinkles that I added on and then colored with a silver edible marker. These were exactly what I envisioned.

I also wanted one that was reminiscent of the album cover. I piped on white royal icing and then did a wet-on-wet technique by adding some gray dots and lines of icing before the white icing dried. I used a cookie scribe to spread out the gray icing and create a look reminiscent of the black-and-white photo of trees on the cover. Once it dried, I used my edible black marker again to write “folklore” over the trees. It’s not exactly like the album, but I still like it!

I’ve got several orders coming up soon, but I will get back to my Swiftie Sweets as soon as I can! Make sure to follow me as I have a lot of fun content coming up soon. It’s almost the 1 year anniversary of officially opening my home bakery business. I have several cakes to share that I’m excited about. And I’m very excited for my Christmas cookie box reveal!
