It’s been a big couple of weeks for us Swifties! Between the Emmys, 0s appearing all over the place, the TLOAS: The Encore drop, and the Patient Zero music video – we have had so much content!!
It’s hard to believe this Friday will be a year since the initial release of The Life of a Showgirl. It’s fun to see it continue to grow and evolve with this new edition.
While I gravitate toward her more poetic, moodier tracks and eras, I have enjoyed the bops and lighter vibes of this era. Unlike some of her previous eras, I felt fully immersed in this one. I set an alarm to listen to the New Heights podcast reveal, listened to the tracks at midnight, went to the TLOAS movie, and excitedly tried to decipher clues about TLOAS: The Encore.
The internet is full of hot (and cold as ice) takes on The Encore. It’s been a bit polarizing, even for Swifties. But, personally, I enjoyed it! Patient Zero has been a hit in my house, even before the stunningly beautiful music video. Seriously, some of her best directing and work!!

I’ve been thinking about baking for TLOAS era for my Swiftie Sweets series and now felt like the perfect time to do it with all the excitement for TLOAS: The Encore. When thinking about the sweets, I knew I wanted to incorporate the teal/orange vibes, but wasn’t sure how I wanted it to look. This series has been about translating her eras into creative treats, but it’s also been an excuse to try out new techniques. One cake idea I’d been wanting to try for a while was cake push pops. I’ve seen a lot of bakers sell these at vendor markets or for outdoor parties. They are a great way to eat cake on the go and are adorable. I decided this would be a fun option for this era.

I bought some push pop containers and baked my favorite vanilla cake recipe with orange food coloring. I baked it in a jelly roll pan (10×15) to achieve thin layers. While the cake cooled, I made teal icing. Once the cake was cooled, I used an empty push pop to cut out round pieces of cake.
I assembled the push pop by alternating layers of cake and piped icing. I topped it off with icing and TLOAS-inspired decor. A showgirl-inspired treat wouldn’t be complete without feathers, leotards, stars, and of course – edible glitter!

What’s your favorite TLOAS era moment?
Check back next week for another Swiftie Sweet. I’ve had one ready for a while, but keep getting distracted by other sweets! And while you wait, check out my previous ones: TTPD dipped oreos, Speak Now cake, Red cake pops, 1989 cookies, and evermore braided bread. Which one is your favorite Swiftie Sweet?
